Sediment pre-filters remove suspended particles such as sand, rust and debris, protecting downstream components from blockage and wear. Activated carbon filters are often used as the primary treatment, adsorbing chlorine, volatile organic compounds and substances affecting taste and odour. Sub-micron filtration delivers a further level of refinement, capturing smaller particles and, depending on the rating, some bacteria and cysts.

Pedal Prix is a student endurance racing program where teams design, build, maintain and race human-powered vehicles in long format team events. The program gives students practical experience in engineering, teamwork, problem solving and endurance while encouraging collaboration both on and off the track.
The opening round in Bunbury WA brought together students, teachers, volunteers and families for a successful day of racing and learning.
With vehicles running strongly throughout the event, students worked together across driving, mechanical support, strategy and team operations to keep everything moving smoothly during the 14-hour race day.

Programs like Pedal Prix create valuable opportunities for students to apply classroom learning in a real world environment. Students develop practical technical skills while also building resilience, communication, leadership and teamwork through shared challenges and competition.
