As announced on 1 July 2025, Western Australia officially banned the use of expanded plastic moulded packaging under the Environmental Protection (Prohibited Plastics and Balloons) Regulations 2018. This ban specifically targets:

• Expanded polystyrene (EPS)
• Expanded polyethene (EPE)
• Expanded polypropylene (EPP)

A Message from Our Supply Chain Team

We have been working diligently to stay ahead of these regulations. Our Supply Chain Manager Karol Recki recently shared an update on the tangible changes we’ve implemented:

“We changed our polystyrene (EPS) spacers to honeycomb—a biodegradable material made from recycled paper—late last year. While we may still have a small quantity of units at Billi HQ produced prior to the break point, every step we take is designed to eliminate waste. Furthermore, Billi does not use EPE nor EPP for packaging.”

Our team has already commenced investigating the option to move towards plant fibre pallet strapping, ensuring that even the smallest components of our delivery process align with our “Green” philosophy.
