Drinking plenty of water and staying hydrated is key to our health & well-being, but whilst tap water in Australia is suitable for consumption, with all the nasties added and particles that can be collected it’s often not the best quality, especially when it comes to taste. Below is how to improve drinking water quality and taste with our water filtration systems.
Billi has been at the forefront of the instant filtered boiling and chilled water systems industry for over 30 years. All our water filtration systems come with an assurance of quality, innovation & sustainability and are proudly Australian-designed & made to strict quality standards in our state-of-the-art facilities in Melbourne. If you want to ensure you and your family keep up their water intake but want to know how to improve tap water taste and quality, here is why our water filtration systems are the perfect solution
One of the easiest and most effective ways on how to improve drinking water quality is to use a water filtration system. But not all water filters are the same. How to improve tap water taste and quality to the highest standard requires the right kind of filter. Using a high-quality filter like our range of premium filters that utilise micron water filter technology, ensures adequate filtration but importantly, still allows minerals to flow through without limescale build up.
Micron water filter technology features a graded density profile that ensures maximum performance & capacity, providing superior drinking water quality. What makes this technology so effective is that the filter has a higher surface area so it can capture smaller particles compared to traditional filters. Particles are also trapped throughout the filter rather than just the surface of the filter, enabling a more effective level of filtration. The filter surface also doesn’t get blocked, maintaining water pressure and providing a higher flow rate.
How to improve drinking water quality, even more, is through submicron filters (e.g. 0.5 or the more advanced 0.2-micron water filters). These filters have additional filtration capabilities as the smaller openings can filter more, including bacteria.
In our range we have the following filter options available:
Once you know how to improve tap water taste and quality, the next step is maintaining it. Recently the University of South Australia conducted a study on drinking water dispensed through activated carbon water filters. One of the findings from the study was that to maintain water quality, the filter should be replaced every 11-12 months.
Over time, filters accumulate organic matter via the filtration process. This can lead to biofilm development which can reduce the performance of your system as well as the quality of the water being dispensed. With the filters in our range you can do the filter replacement yourself (we have DIY videos to show you how to do this) however, we can also arrange for one of our technicians to do it for you.
