Multi-stage filtration systems are the best way to filter drinking water. The other, inferior option is to use conventional carbon filters. The multistage BWT Fibron X® Carbon Filter uses activated carbon fibre with minimal bonding. By contrast a conventional carbon filter is made of granules which are generally held together with a resin. The need for resin decreases the surface area of the filter and in turn the quality of filtration. That is why we chose a multi-stage system for our premium filter range.
In a multi-stage filtration process, like the BWT filters that Billi use, the cyst filtration layer removes bacteria such as parasitic cysts giardia and cryptosporidium (0.2 Micron filter only).
